One of the purposes of literature circles is for you to practice making connections and to learn about bias and point of view.
Answer one or more of the following questions to demonstrate what you've learned so far:
1. Who's point of view is present in the pages you've read so far? Who's point of view is missing? Give evidence from the book to support your answer.
3. Is there evidence of bias in the book so far? Use details from the book to justify your answer
2). in the book there have been some boring oarts and exting parts. i made these connections better by thinking about my past and making it the book better in my head. i think that my group did much better this time because i was the leader and i asked question and everyone was listening. i think every one in my group did it. and yea :)
ReplyDeletewhat kind of connections were you thinking about. your supposed to write your connection in your comment
DeleteYou said you made connections, but you didn't tell us about it! You need to tell us what you're talking about,so people won't be so confused.
Delete2. My connection is to myself. In the book, there is a part where a little boy named Sam gets stuck in a pipe because he was trying to hear trains and I also got stuck 2 times in a pipe when I was little. The only difference is that first time I was chasing a dog and got stuck and second time a crow was chasing me.This helps me understand the text because I've had similar experience.
ReplyDeletegood connection! but wat did u do to a crow to make it chase you? and lol i can actually imagine u being chased by a crow.
DeleteLong story...
Delete2. Earlier in the book, when Tamara went to the elderly person home. I went to an elderly person home with my scout group once. :)
ReplyDeleteimprove on your connection very basic. it's soo short
DeleteShould add more details about the book and the situation.
Deletethats good but me and u had like the same intresting facts and all and ajj u didnt even talk in it
Delete1.Skinny Bone's and The Wrinkle Queen's point of view is present in these pages. Herb's and Shirl's point of view is missing. For example, they never talk about them. Also in the book there never is a chapter with their point if you.
ReplyDeleteI tots agree with you. They should talk about herb and Shril more often! I really like those characters. :)
DeleteSure you do
DeleteYes because Benny got bullied and all the kids just stood there and didnt help him at all so that is what made him kill himself
ReplyDelete2. This book reminds me of Amanda Todd because she got bullied so much and nobody stood up for her so she couldn't take it and killed herself just like Benny in the book did. This helps me understand book because you always need to help your friends out or they might kill them self if they are getting bullied
Very good and serious connection..
Deleteya zeel your right
DeleteNice and understandable connection.
Delete1)in these pages the point of view is charley,i know that because in chapter 9 he talks about how his mother died and what happen to her and his family. Bennys voice is missing andit will be missing untill the end of the book because BENNY DIED!!!! I know the book was suppose to be about Benny because charley said at the begin of the book, that the book is about Benny.
ReplyDeletei think that in my book egghead katies point of view is present the most because in bacicly every other chapter she is talking or explaining in the book also i think williams fathers piont of view is missing because he should have a say in weather he should date/go out with katie of not
ReplyDeleteIs it really william's father's point of view missing or is it just Will's point of view missing.
Delete2. We made a text to world connection that when the planes crashed into the towers it reminded me of when in the actual world it happend and that they thought that it was terrorists just like in the story and they confirmed that it was terrorists that did this and crashes the planes into the twin towers. It helps me understand the book better because in real life they actually got photos of when the planes crashed into the twin towers and now I know how it would look like when the planes crash into the towers in the book.
ReplyDeleteI really like your connection because you are reading we all fall down and the book really relates to your connection
Deletegood and it is good that you look at the pictures of 9 11 and made a text to world connection
Deletenice text to world connection
DeleteI like how you looked at pictures about the 9 11 and I liked how you made a text to world connection
Delete2. my connection is to the brandon in our class to the brandon in our class. they are both very tall and have a short temper(LOL no offense). both brandons are alike but the one in the book is more of a troublemaker and he does many crazy things. this helps me understand the book because i can imagine brandon doing whatever brandon in the book does. like i can totally imagine brandon squishing a basketball until it explodes.
ReplyDeleteour group did a good job! and ZEEL i kno bautista(from the blue jays) is awesome but u need to stop talking bout him!
I think you should try to make a different connection because you made similar connection last time too. It's not my fault if Bautista is awesome,so I can't do anything bout it iight.
DeleteNot being mean or anything but the Brandon from the story and Brandon from our class area alike because they are tall and they do loose there temper really quickly like that time when brandon.... nevermind
DeleteLMAO! thats funny and good connection or way to help u read the book! ;) XD
DeleteI was also thinking of the same thing. I can imagine him doing some things, even if its a bit far fetched.
Delete1. Katie's and Devan's point of view is visible throughout the whole story. There's a boy name Will who's point of view is missing because he is the one who is getting bullied. He should be the one explaining how he feels, what will happen next, and etc. In one part of the book, Will runs in his pink underwear and got embarrassed and got bullied again by Shane (bully). After that, he never said a thing about what just happened.
ReplyDelete1. Anna,s Point of view is present in these pages, She is the one telling the story. Zoe, Anna,s best friend's voice is missing in the story. It doesn't tell us how Zoe feels about her situation.
ReplyDelete3. Yes there is bias in the book because the author is showing everything bad about Anna. For example, she is useless on her own, she can't live her life because she is too scared. The author says that but her mom says something else about her, and we don't know what Zoe says either.
I think the point of view is from the boy Will. I think this because when characters say something to Will when he responds back and it says "I said" at the end, so that must mean Will is telling the story from his point of view. Also it said that Will's dad took him to his work and the story there couldn't have been told by someone who wasn't there. I kind of think Will's dad's point of view is missing because what Will is saying makes his dad look like a bad guy, his dad might think of it differently.
ReplyDelete2. i think that the connections that people said was parts of there old memory and that it really relates to the book and it shows what the book is all about so I think we did a good job with are connections.
ReplyDeleteBrandon's point of view is present in these pages. Leon's voice is missing. I know because it doesn't say anything about Leon is feeling or how he is handling things. Everything about what Brandon is doing, thinking, feeling is in the pages. Only Brandon's voice is in the pages that I read. I think that only his point of view will be present throughout the rest of the book.
ReplyDelete1.By reading these pages so far, i think that Mrs barclay's point of view is representing in these pages because tamara has to do all the things what she wants and what she orders. And i think that tamara's point of view is missing because she can't
ReplyDeletedo what she wants to do because Mrs barclay's point of view is taking her point of view.
In these pages Anna;s voice was present because she more like the narrator and Zoe's voice is not present because she dose'nt really talk about her life or accidents
ReplyDeleteThis chapter reminds me of when my friend left to Australia. It reminds me of that because Anna left Zoe. This connection helps me understand the book because when i read this automaticly I thought about my friend going to Australia
Nice connection, its deep and you also talked about how it helped you understand the book.
Deletewow! your connection helps me understand how zoe felt and i never read the book!
DeleteWe all fall down
ReplyDelete1. Will's point if view is presented. Will is the only one who has the most voice in the pages. His friend James is missing, we all want to hear about everybody's day.
2. The author wants us to think that will is a smart and brave boy. The author makes will do math and instead of him going down to safety,he helps his dad evacuate the building.
2. I made a text to world connection. The text to world connection was a teacher saving a kid from getting kidnapped. This relates to the book by Will's Father saving Ting when she was really hurt.
ReplyDeleteThe connection helps me understand the book better because you can picture stuff so you know what's going on in the book.
Question#3:
ReplyDeleteThere some evidence of bias in the book "PayBack" because after Benny died, the author totally excluded him out and is writing story from Charley point of view.
Question#2:
When Benny died because he was getting bullied, this reminded me about Amanda Todd because she also died cause she got bullied too.
Question#1:
Charley's point of view is present in these pages because Benny is dead and so the author is writing the book about his life.
