The creator of this commercial is appealing to your emotions for sure. They make you feel sad because the little boy lost his mom. I know I'm right because it made me feel sad also. This is a very effective ad because people would feel sad for the little boy and if they have kids, they wouldn't want this to happen to their kids so they'd quit smoking.
1. They used emotions and smilies/metaphors/comparisions. They tried to make people feel sorry or sad for the little boy by showing them how he felt when he lost his mom. They tried to how the smokers how their kids would feel if they lost them. They also used the comparsion "if this is how your child feels after losing you for a minute how would they feel if they lost you for life". 2.I think this is effective because most adult smokers with kids would understand how their kids would feel from seeing this how this kid reacted to losing his mom.
